Get into the circle of 4ths
A little pattern. A lot of fretboard fluency.
Follow clockwise: each step is a perfect 4th, or five frets up. Find each note in your range, then go around again. Note names follow your sharps or flats setting.
How it connects across strings
In standard tuning, at the same fret on the next higher string, bass goes E → A → D → G. Guitar follows 4ths too, except G → B. For a 4th from G, move one fret higher on the B string. Custom tuning may use different intervals.
How to build your scoreTHE LINER NOTES
Clean note = 100 points + a speed bonus. Answer correctly on your first try in 2 seconds or less for +100; in 5 seconds or less for +50; otherwise +0. Your combo multiplies the total.
Keep your streak in tune. Start at x1. Your 5th consecutive clean answer earns x2, your 10th earns x3, and your 15th earns x4 (the maximum). The meter counts down to your next multiplier.
A miss isn’t the end of the music. It immediately resets your streak and combo. Solving that note still earns 25 points, with no bonuses. You never lose points. Pausing stops the clock.
Resetting or changing your practice setup starts a fresh score. Showing or hiding the circle keeps your session. Your personal best stays saved in this browser.
